Fearless Of The Night

When researching for inspiration to use towards an illustration, I came across a poem by Sarah Williams, which is now one of her most famous poems. I in particular fell in love with the second half of the fourth stanza (which is widely quoted in various forms), in her poem titled 'The Old Astronomer To His Pupil'

"Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night."

Created using watercolours, coloured pencil, white acrylic, and Coliro colours in Sterling Silver on Bockingford hot pressed watercolour paper.
