The Witching Hour
in Famous and Fantasy IllustrationA portrait inspired by witches and warlocks, created using watercolour and acrylic.
Previous ProjectI thoroughly enjoy reading myths that circle around ocean themes. It's fascinating, coupled with the little knowledge we have on such a vast area, it's easy to blur the lines of myth, fantasy and reality through stories and art. The centrepiece for this illustration as well as the inspiration, is a female figure from Greek mythology, named Thetis. Though she had many mythological roles, Thetis mainly appeared as a sea nymph, a goddess of water, or one of the 50 Nereids, whom are daughters of the ancient sea god Nereus. Created on cold pressed watercolour paper using Winsor & Newton watercolours and acrylics.
