Lustre.

I don't think I go one day without watching some sort of fantasy driven film or TV series, or listening to film soundtracks; they are incredibly inspiring for me and I found I was quite influenced in this illustration by The Hobbit Trilogy. I created this piece in my usual mixed media of watercolours, coloured pencil and acrylics on Bockingford cold pressed watercolour paper, using myself as a reference for composition only (I unfortunately do not possess the great beauty of elves!). It is great to exercise the imagination beyond the reference photo, rather using the photo as a tool to create the image.
