I've been on a bit of a Mermaid kick this month due to Instagram's #mermay theme! This started off as an experiment within my sketchbook that lead to this final painting.
Measuring 38x28cm on Bockingford extra rough watercolour paper, using watercolours, coloured pencil and acrylics.
When experimenting within my sketchbook (and how I work on a lot of final pieces!) is to not plan it, and let my imagination run the show in how it turns out. To date this is my favourite painting I've made, she's become very special and now has pride of place in a frame on my desk.
