A portrait of a couple, commissioned by the woman in the artwork. This was quite a challenge to produce as I had a low resolution photo that was taken with a phone as my only reference, so a lot of the detail that went in to the portrait was used from experience of drawing faces, and where wrinkles and shadows/highlights would lay. I normally wouldn't work with that kind of reference, but it was actually quite a positive challenge to my skill at drawing a likeness.
Created with a 0.5 Pentel mechanical pencil, on Windsor & Newton watercolour paper.
